Editorial standards
CleanLabel° exists to make labels easier to understand. It is not a substitute for medical, legal, or personal nutrition advice.
What we publish
We publish original explainers, research-led articles, product and label analysis, and interactive tools. A page should help a reader understand a specific question, not merely repeat what a package, search result, or another website already says.
Sources and evidence
For factual health, nutrition, safety, or regulatory claims, we aim to identify the underlying study, public regulator, official label, or other primary record. We link or name sources where they matter, distinguish established findings from early or mixed evidence, and avoid presenting association as proof of cause.
Products, brands, and scores
Ingredient lists, nutrition panels, stated serving sizes, and publicly available documentation are the starting point for product coverage. A CleanLabel score or flag is an editorial tool for comparison, not a diagnosis, certification, or guarantee that a product is suitable for every person.
Independence and commercial relationships
Advertising, affiliate links, paid products, and editorial conclusions are kept separate. A commercial relationship does not buy a positive review, change a score, or control a conclusion. Where a link may earn us a commission, the relationship is disclosed near the relevant recommendation.
Corrections
Accuracy matters more than defending a published line. If you spot an error, an outdated label, a missing source, or a claim that needs context, email the URL and supporting material to support@cleanlabelwatch.com. We review substantiated corrections and update material errors with a note where appropriate.
Updates and reader safety
Labels, formulations, and regulations can change. Publication dates and source links show the context in which a page was prepared. Readers should check the physical package and seek qualified advice for decisions involving allergies, medical conditions, medication, or individual dietary needs.
